I would like to be solipsistic, but I don't trust myself with that much responsibility.

Dennis Kucinich is a Keebler elf playing Ralph Nader

rherrick — Wed, 03/10/2010 - 12:26

So Markos Moulitsas was on MSNBC's Countdown with Keith Olberman and basically said that Dennis Kucinich threatens health care reform with his intransigence and should face a Democratic primary challenger if he doesn't get with the damned program.

As far as Maven goes...

rherrick — Tue, 02/09/2010 - 10:59

So clearly I've working with Maven quite a lot lately.  I'm doing OK, but I'm really at the point like where I know enough French to take bits of what I know and smoosh them together and get food or a taxi to the airport.  But I also know that if Sophie Marceau came up and just started chatting me up, I'd have no chance whatsoever and not just because my wife would be sitting next to me on the bench.

It's because I can't speak French that well, is why.

So here's where we are today

rherrick — Thu, 01/21/2010 - 09:12

Dateline Augusta, Georgia:

Don "Moose" Lewis, the commissioner of the AABA, said the reasoning behind the league's roster restrictions is not racism. "There's nothing hatred about what we're doing," he said. "I don't hate anyone of color. But people of white, American-born citizens are in the minority now. Here's a league for white players to play fundamental basketball, which they like."

Configuring the ContentNegotiatingViewResolver for Spring 3.0 RESTful services

Update 1: There's some weird AspectJ error that keeps occurring.

Update 2: The AspectJ error was actually in AspectJ.

I have what I think will be a not particularly uncommon scenario, but couldn't find a direct answer to how to handle it.  I finally worked it out, so I wanted to make it available to anyone else that's trying to get past this bump in the road!

Quelle surprise!

rherrick — Wed, 12/02/2009 - 08:58

Apparently a video has surfaced showing Marilyn Monroe smoking weed!  I'm shocked, shocked, to find out that someone with a long history of drug abuse who died from an overdose of chloral hydrate and nembutal was smoking the devil weed.  Is nothing sacred?

Political correctness comes full circle

rherrick — Fri, 11/06/2009 - 11:21

Update below

So on Memeorandum today, I see a headline that interests me:

Pox or Fox? We Report. You Decide.

And this is attributed to the PBX ombudsman Michael Getler. Well, that's interesting, so I click over there.

Here's the "controversy" in a nutshell: Oscar the Grouch is reporting forGrouch News Network, or GNN, dedicated to news that's "all grouchy, all disgustin', all yucky."

What's the Pashto word for "irony"?

rherrick — Wed, 10/28/2009 - 09:49

Because I think it's on exhibit right here.  No democracy, just whatever it is we want?

The Titans suck

rherrick — Sun, 10/18/2009 - 15:36

I think the Tennessee Titans might be the worst team in the NFL.  I've always thought the reverence for Jeff Fisher was a little misplaced.  I mean, the team really hasn't done much of squat in the entire time he's been there, other than almost winng the Super Bowl once.  And as bad as they are this season, he's moving hazardously close to the .500 win percentage (133-108 prior to this currently winless season).

Handling Basic Authentication Dialogs in Watir Tests

rherrick — Thu, 10/15/2009 - 11:57

I just ran into an issue where I'm creating Watir tests for some of the Web applications at my work.  These applications require basic authentication to access them.  Watir is not really set up to handle basic authentication on its own, since the whole process is sort of an odd bird (and, worth noting, isn't really used on actual secure sites for a number of reasons; our applications are secured with basic authentication in testing environments).
