Yes, it's John Yoo again. I guess every year he comes out, looks to see his shadow, and predicts six more weeks of torture.
I really don't understand why this guy's a professor at one of the top law schools in the nation. The most generous interpretation is that he honestly believes the tripe that he peddled as "legal reasoning," which makes him a terrible lawyer. The less generous interpretation, of course, is that he made up whatever bilge was required to allow the Bush Administration to do as it pleased when violating international and American law in the torture of detainees.
And no, information obtained through torture didn't help us find Osama bin Laden. And even if it did, do we truly want to use "the ends justifies the means" as a rationalization for our actions?
