See, this is funny, because Ann claims to be a "Christian first and a mean-spirited, bigoted conservative second", so she must be a virgin because she's never been married.  And clearly she's demagogic.  So certainly that phrase too would never be confused with "U.S. Marines".

 

But seriously, WTF is this supposed to mean?

I mean, obviously it's supposed to be an insult comparing lawyers (I doubt she really requires the "leading" or the "conservative" to make this comparison) unfavorably with the paragon of manhood represented by an idealized U.S. Marine.  Which is funny because over time she's dated a publisher, author, and politician, but never a Marine.  So I guess she likes small and/or flaccid penises or perhaps men who dress in women's clothing.  Which I'm not sure if that's a sin or not, but compared to fornication it's probably pretty small beer.
